Springtime brings birds, flowers, and lot of rain. Rain makes for impressive waterfalls and we love big, fat waterfalls! These are our favorite Blue Ridge waterfalls to visit in spring.

Dark Hollow Falls in Shenandoah National Park is always beautiful, but in spring it rushes down the mountain and you can sneak a visit before it gets crazy crowded in the summer and fall.

Crabtree Falls in Virginia is an enormous 1200 foot waterfall that slides and drops down a steep mountain deep in the mountains. 

Apple Orchard Falls near Peaks of Otter is one of the best and tallest waterfalls on the Blue Ridge Parkway at 200 feet tall..

The Cascades near Blacksburg Virginia is our personal favorite waterfall in Virginia, and in spring you can visit with almost no crowding.

Linville Falls in North Carolina is a powerhouse of a waterfall and in spring it thunders into the Linville River blasting mist high into the air.

Crabtree Falls in North Carolina is a stunning waterfall hidden away in a natural amphitheater. It's beautiful all year bust best in late spring.

Rainbow Falls near Brevard, North Carolina gets its name from the rainbows formed in the dense mist thrown up by the waterfall. This one is a must for unparalleled beauty!

You'll find both High Falls and Triple Falls on the same short hike. In summer and fall the trail is packed but in spring you can find a little solitude.
